About Glacier Trips
A family-owned local glacier guiding company in southeast Iceland, offering small-group natural ice cave tours in Vatnajökull National Park since 2015.
Who we are
Behind Glacier Trips are Sindri and Fanney, who have run the company from southeast Iceland since 2015.
For us, Glacier Trips is more than a tour company. It is part of our home, our work and the glacier landscape we return to every winter. We live close to Vatnajökull, work with a small local guide team and build our tours around the conditions of each day.
Sindri has been guiding natural ice cave tours for more than a decade and is closely involved in the daily operation — from checking weather, roads and glacier conditions to planning routes and working with the guides in the field.
When you book with Glacier Trips, you book directly with the people behind the company: a small local team that knows the area, cares about the details and takes responsibility for the experience from start to finish.

Our local connection
Glacier Trips is based near Höfn in southeast Iceland, close to Vatnajökull National Park and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
This local connection matters. Ice caves change through the season, weather can move quickly, and road and glacier conditions can affect the plan for the day. Being local helps us follow conditions closely and make practical decisions for our guests.
How we guide
Our tours are built around small groups, clear communication and daily safety decisions.
Natural ice caves are part of a changing glacier environment. Before each tour, the guide team considers the weather, road conditions and the state of the glacier before choosing the safest available route.
We keep our groups small so the experience feels personal and so the guide can manage the group properly in winter conditions.
Our guide team
Our winter guide team will be added here before the ice cave season begins.
All Glacier Trips tours are operated by experienced glacier guides who understand the changing conditions in Vatnajökull National Park. Sindri remains closely involved in planning, safety decisions and daily operations throughout the season.
Why booking direct matters
Ice cave tours depend on nature. Weather, roads and glacier conditions can change quickly, and sometimes plans need to be adjusted.
When you book directly with Glacier Trips, your communication goes straight to the local team operating the tour. That makes it easier to answer questions, share updates, reschedule when possible and help you if conditions change.
Direct booking also supports a small family-owned company in southeast Iceland — the people who live here, work here and guide on the glacier each season.
