3-Day Photo Tour FAQ

Who hosts the 3-Day Photo Tour?

Sindri Ragnarsson personally, not a contracted guide. Sindri is co-owner of Glacier Trips and the lead photographer behind much of our content. The tour is hosted, not just guided.

What’s included in the 3-Day Photo Tour?

Three days of photography guidance across multiple locations (Jökulsárlón, Diamond Beach, Heinabergslón, Stokksnes, hidden waterfalls, Höfn coastline), a glacier walk, an authentic home-cooked family dinner with Sindri, his wife Fanney, and their two children, and accommodation at Haukafell Camping (separate supplier, included in tour price).

Where do we stay on the 3-Day Photo Tour?

At Haukafell Camping, a remote and scenic location, partner accommodation included in the tour. Spacious 16 m² tents with 90 cm beds, down duvets, nightstands. Single-occupancy tents available for additional fee. Alternative accommodations can be arranged on request.

How small is the group?

Small. The personal-hosting model means we cap the group at a level where the family dinner feels intimate and Sindri can give each photographer attention. Email for current group size on your preferred dates.

What’s the difference between the 3-Day Photo Tour and the day-tour Photography Tour?

Length, host, accommodation, and depth. The day-tour Photography Tour is one day, guided by a Glacier Trips guide (not always Sindri personally), no accommodation. The 3-Day Photo Tour is three days, hosted personally by Sindri, includes accommodation and a family dinner, covers multiple South-East Iceland locations beyond just the ice cave.

What’s the fitness requirement for the 3-Day Photo Tour?

Moderate fitness needed for the glacier walk component, which is one part of the 3 days. The rest is photography at various locations, driving, walking to vantage points, occasional moderate hiking. Not a technical expedition.

Can I book the 3-Day Photo Tour with custom dates?

Email info@glaciertrips.is with your preferred dates and we’ll check Sindri’s calendar. The tour has more flexibility than the daily ice cave tours because it’s a personally-hosted experience.
